Lubbock, Texas

We left our hotel in Farmington this morning about 8:15 a.m.  Neither of us slept very well because it was the first night not in our own bed.  We are hoping tonight is better. Today was a long day of travel with a lot of scenery that looked like this:

We took this picture to show what we saw for the rest of our travels through New Mexico.  We stopped at Albuquerque for lunch and to fill up and went on our way.  The strangest thing happened as we left Albuquerque.  Michael swears the sun is now rising in the west and setting in the east.  He is convinced that instead of traveling in a southeast direction this afternoon, we have been traveling northwest.  Strange. :)

The weather was not bad today. Mostly warm, but we did drive through 3 or 4 scattered rain showers.  None of them were bad.  The weather cleared just before we arrived here.

The farms in Texas are beautiful and well kept.  It was a pleasant drive with great conversation and a chance for Michael and I to reconnect.  Sometimes we get so involved in activities and the world around us that we miss connecting with one another.

We hope you all have a lovely evening and a great day as we continue our journey tomorrow to Round Rock, Texas where we get to visit for a couple of days with Nola's sister and brother-in-law.  Yay!
