Magic Kingdom Last Day June 23, 2016

It was our last day at Disney World today. We took it pretty easy today.  This morning before we left the house, I got a text from our granddaughter, Alesha. She wanted to know if we were still at the house. We said yes, and she told us to check the mailbox. When we did, there was a package for us. This is what Michelle and Alesha sent us: what a great surprise!

Our fast passes today were at the Magic Kingdom but we first went to Hollywood Studios. (I was selected for additional security screening again, which made us laugh). We wanted to catch Toy Story again. We thought that we might catch the Great Movie ride. When we got there, Toy Story was down. The Great Movie ride had a very long line. So we wandered through the shops and then headed to the Magic Kingdom.  As we left Hollywood studios, we saw this power pole at a transformer station at the side of the road.

The Monorail was down still, so we took the Ferry.  This time, I had the camera.

We got there at the time our fast passes started for Big Thunder and so we hopped the train and rode it to Frontier Land. We went on Big Thunder. It was fun as always. We had a bit of time before our next fast pass so we saw Country Bear Jamboree again.
We enjoyed it, and we enjoyed being inside where it was cool.  The humidity is so much higher than in Utah, that it feels hotter to us. The humidity was 76% and it was 98 degrees.  We looked for shade or coolness wherever we went today.

We rode Peter Pan again with our second fast pass of the day, and then we went to the Hall of Presidents.  They have displays in the lobby of items from Presidential libraries from around the nation.  This was on the floor of the lobby.

That was a very cool show. It is a film and stage show about the presidents of the United States. We found it inspiring and patriotic.

We had a few hours before our last fast pass, so we wandered the shops on Main Street and then found some shade and did some people watching and just enjoyed spending time together.
Here are a few pictures we took during this time.

A park guest asked Michael to take a picture of them, and then offered to take one of us.
We then found a spot and watched the Electrical Parade. It was not quite the same. It has been updated, but was close to what we remembered.  Here are a few pictures from the parade.

Our last fast pass was the Seven Dwarfs mine train.  It was just as fun the second time. It is a good ride.  They need to make one in Disneyland.  We wore our Disneyland t-shirts today and got in some interesting conversations because of them. We also got lots of comments about being in the wrong park for our shirts.

We have enjoyed our time in Disney World, and as we left, still felt emotional.   As we got off the ferry, a cast member handed me a balloon.
It was awesome!  We gave it to a little boy before we boarded the tram. He seemed delighted and it was fun to add to the magic.
I am not sure we will see Mickey here again, but hope to see him at his "real" home in California.

Disneyland is still our favorite and we have decided that we still like it better.

  1. I agree, I like Disneyland better. Though I do enjoy Epcot. I love the pictures and am glad you took it easy today. I'm excited to hear about your Friday adventures!
